About the Golden Butterfly strategy
The Golden Butterfly, from the Portfolio Charts community, splits capital five ways in equal 20% slices: total US stocks, US small-cap value, long-term Treasuries, short-term Treasuries, and gold. It's a variation on the Permanent Portfolio with an added tilt toward equities and small-cap value.
This backtest uses VTI, VBR, TLT, SHY, and GLD at 20% each, rebalanced annually. The equal weighting balances growth assets against defensive ones, aiming for steady performance with contained drawdowns.
